"But He, being merciful forgave their sin and destroyed them not." Palms 78:38

One full week of is complete and everyone is back to the school routine. Students know the expectations of their teachers and their work has begun.

Our fourth grade teacher, Mrs. Rowland, who is out on maternity leave just gave birth to a baby girl last Friday, September 7. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Rowland.

We have some special events coming up for the last two weeks of September. Tonight is our annual Family Night Ice Cream Social. Ice cream has been bought from Cliff's Ice Cream Parlor courtesy of Fr. Marc and the Home and School Association. It has been said that it is the best ice cream on the east coast, so come out and try it for yourself. The social will take place from 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm.

Today all students at St. Therese took a stance against bullying by wearing Blue. St. Therese School has a zero tolerance policy when it comes to bullying and I encourage you to read over the procedures in place to handle Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying that are listed the Student/Parent Handbook. Please read the Student/Parent Handbook, sign the last page to acknowledge that you have read it and return it to the school as soon as possible. The handbook is posted on the St. Therese School website.

On Thursday, September 20 we will have our Annual Back to School Night. Mrs. Cardinale will meet with Grade 8 parents at 6:00 pm in the Grade 8 classroom, Musical Adventures will meet with parents at 6:30 pm in the Grade 7 classroom, and at 7:00 pm we will begin Back to School Night in the gymnasium. Fr. Marc, myself and Mr. Wines will speak to you briefly and introduce our outstanding faculty, then you will be dismissed to your child's teacher. We are looking forward to meeting our returning parents; and especially our new parents.

On this night you will learn about your child's curriculum, school policies, teachers' policies and expectations. This is not a night for parents to speak about their child's individual performance with the teacher. That will be reserved for parent/conferences in November. We will also have the uniform exchange available for parents who would like to exchange uniforms and you will also hear about the many ways we fundraise at the St. Therese School to keep the cost of tuition down.

Also, on that night we will be picking the winner of "Be a Principal 4 a Day." Our students are very excited about the prospect of being the principal for one day.

If I don't see you at the Ice Cream Social I hope to see on Back to School Night.

Have a Blessed Weekend,

Tim Dunnigan
Principal STS
