"The Lord will remember His covenant forever." Palms 111:B-2

Our students continue to pray the Holy Rosary for the month of October honoring our Blessed Mother. Today they completed the Sorrowful Mysteries and will begin the Luminous Mysteries next week given to us by Pope John Paul II.

The St.Therese School wishes all of our Italian Americans a belated Happy Columbus Day. We thank all of our Italian Americans for the many contributions that they have made to this great country we call the USA.

On Friday, October 5 our faculty participated in professional development via the internet. Faculty listened to a panel of STEM experts from engineering and Ivy league schools about how to best teach STEM in the classroom. Faculty also learned of ways to incorporate "Blended Learning" into their lessons as well as some personalized learning in Elementary Mathematics, Social Studies and Language Arts. Pre-k teachers became familiar with resources and tools to align early childhood standards with the program they are teaching.

On Thursday, October 11, students honored their patron saint gathering around the flag pole to listen to Mr. Dunnigan read a short biography on Saint Therese, the Little Flower. Students then prayed the "Prayer to St. Therese" before beginning the the annual St. Therese Walk-a-thon. Ms.Taylor's second grade class led the walk-a-thon as they were the class that had the most sponsors. Congratulations Second Grade, and thank you to all of our sponsors who made the walk-a-thon a great success.

The 8th grade begins its all weekend Clothing Drive today from 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm, Saturday, October 13 from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm and Sunday, October 14 from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm. If you have any old clothes that you are looking to get rid of, our eighth grade students will be collecting them in the Learning Center Parking Lot.

Tomorrow, Saturday, October 13 St. Therese will have its annual Scrap and Craft Day. Doors open at 8:00 am and close at 5:00 pm. We hope to see you.

Finally, the St. Therese parish and school community is having its annual "Day of Service." If you have a couple of hours to spare to spread mulch, do some gardening, clean the church and socialize with your parishioners, we would love to see you.
