Winter snuck up on us early and unexpectedly, and as it says in Luke's gospel today, so will it be when the Son of Man is revealed. He will come unexpectedly. Just as we must be prepared for storms and bad weather, we must be prepared for the coming of the Son of Man, our Lord Jesus Christ.
Report cards were to be disseminated on Friday, November 16, but due to school being closed because of the winter weather they will be distributed on Monday, November 19. First Honors and Second Honors will be announced on Tuesday morning during morning assembly.
Next week on Monday, November 19 and Tuesday, November 20 parent conferences will be held and students will have an early dismissal at 12:00 pm. Our eighth graders will be selling baked goods to raise money for their Project Graduation.
On Wednesday, November 21, we will also have an early dismissal before our Thanksgiving Day Break. Ms. Dohrmann, and our fifth graders will present to the school the dressing of our Annual Thanksgiving Day Table. The ceremony will begin at 10:00 am in the gym. Parents are invited.
Our Postponed HSA Meeting will take place on Thursday, November 29 at 7:00 pm in the gym. Maryann Gibbs, Roxbury School District's Anti-Bullying Specialist will speak on the topic of Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying in schools and what the NJ state law has to say about it. It promises to be an informative night. Our eighth graders will be available to babysit in the classrooms.
Breakfast with Santa will take place on Saturday, December 1 from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm.
There has been a change in the date of our Annual Christmas Concert from Friday, December 14 to Thursday, December 20. The concert will begin at 7:00 pm and the winner of the 50/50 super raffle will be announced that night.
Finally, Bishop Serratelli will be celebrating the annual Respect Life Mass on Saturday, November 17 at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Paterson, NJ at 10:00 am. Parishioners, families and friends are all invited to attend, and there is plenty of parking.
