This week began with our students preparing for the coming of Our Lord by receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Grades 3 and 4 received the sacrament on Monday, grades 5 and 6 received it on Thursday and grades 7 and 8 will receive it on Tuesday, December 18. How blessed we are as Catholics to have this wonderful sacrament of forgiveness, and what better way to prepare for the celebration of the birth of Our Lord, Jesus Christ. I pray that everyone gets the opportunity during this joyous season to receive this gift given to us by Jesus. As Jesus told St. Faustina, "The greater the sinner, the greater is his right to My mercy."
Today our pre-k3 and prek-4 St. Therese Tabernacle Choir celebrated our Annual Christmas Concert. A special guest from the North Pole was on hand to listen and celebrate the Christmas concert with them. Much thanks Mrs. Dobres, Julie Matthews, Mrs. Reed and Mrs. MacDonald for preparing our students. They were magnificent!
Tonight, Fr. Dulibber is hosting a Christmas Movie Night at 7:00 pm in the gym. Popcorn and refreshments will be served. Students attending with their families are asked to bring a blanket and pillow to get comfortable as they enjoy the movie, "Elf." Should be a fun night for all!
On Tuesday, December 18 students will have the opportunity to go to Santa's Shop to buy gifts for a friend or relative. Special thanks to Mrs. Caldera and Mrs. Levy for taking up the spirited event.
On Wednesday, December 19, all faculty and staff will hold their annual Christmas get together after school; therefore there will be no aftercare on Wednesday, December 19.
Our Annual St. Therese K-8 Christmas Concert will take place on Thursday, December 20 at 7:00 pm in the gym. Our students have been practicing long and hard to prepare. The Band part of the concert will be held at a later date. Ms. Pachella is looking forward to leading our students in her first Christmas Concert with St. Therese. Our annual 50/50 raffle will also go off when the concert concludes. Good luck to all!
On Friday, December 21 we will have our Annual Christmas Prayer Service and Breakfast. School will be dismissed at 11:45 in order for us to coordinate the buses with the Roxbury schools, who also have a half day on December 21.
Have a Blessed Weekend,
