Happy Belated New Year! This is my first week back from the Christmas vacation as my eldest son got married on New Year's Eve and we had many relatives in from across the pond and elsewhere. I hope everyone had joyful Christmas break and thank you everyone for the beautiful Christmas cards and messages. It is good being back to a routine as we have a very busy schedule ahead of us.
The marking period ends on Friday, January 18 and grades 6-8 will be taking midterms from Tuesday, January 22 - Friday, January 25.
On Friday, January 18 all seventh and eighth graders are invited to attend the "March for Life" in Washington DC. Students were given permission slips and parents of all grades are invited. If you are a parent of a student in another grade and would like to attend, please call me at the school at 973-584-0812. Our day will start with 6:00 am mass at St. Therese and the bus will depart from the church at approximately 6:30 am. We will return at approximately at 9:00 or 10:00 pm, depending on traffic. I have been attending the "March for Life" for more than 25 years. It is one of the best ways we can speak for the babies in the womb who have no voice. Come join us and make your voice heard. Hopefully one day we will not have to march!
School will be closed on Monday, January 21 in honor of Martin Luther King Day.
Catholic Schools Week begins on Sunday, January 27 and our Eighth Grade Ring and Pin Ceremony will take place at the 9:00 am mass. Breakfast for parents and students will follow in the gym and our Open House will run from 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm. We will have Open House again on Wednesday, January 30 from 9:00 am - 11:00 am. The week will conclude with First Friday mass being celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday, February 1.
Have a Blessed Weekend and enjoy the playoff football!
